Alex creates functional accessories and artistic pieces for office and home.  Turning and flatwork techniques are employed. Pieces use carefully selected combinations of woods from the wonderful palette of color and texture available from the Appalachian hardwood forests. The wood is sourced from local suppliers and from the artisan's own property. Items are finished using natural oils and waxes. The goal is to let the wood feel like wood while offering protection consistent with use.

Decorative techniques such as Lichtenberg burning, gilding, and combinations with colored resins are also employed.
