Stained and fused glass art

Artist's Statement

I have been making art and working with the creative process as long as I can remember. I graduated from Southern Oregon University with a degree in art and a few years later became a Waldorf teacher.

I have worked with a variety of media, but it wasn’t until 2020 when I first worked with stained glass that I knew I am a glass artist. Since then I have been working with both stained and fused glass. I draw all my own patterns and love the process of designing a panel and selecting glass for it as well as the precision work of cutting and fitting the glass.

The themes in my work - whether more naturalistic or abstract - are inspired by the natural world, the human experience, and the beauty of light and color. I am drawn to the flow of air, water, and fire and enjoy including traditional quilt patterns in my work. I especially enjoy representing small woodland plants, trees, water, and sky in my work.
