Three handsome/beautiful kids visited today while I was at the Gallery.

It’s such a treat to be on site when young people are checking out the loveseat.  I can’t always leave my post at the front desk, but today I went out to introduce myself.  Their Mom said she’s been photographing them on the loveseat as they’ve grown up together.  Love it!  Love them!  🙂    – Virginia

Eliza & Josie visit us from Reston

These posts always bring us joy, we are thrilled that our bench made you smile, Eliza and Josie!

The note we received with the photo reads: “Eliza & Josie loved the Mosaic bench! We are in town to visit Monticello since they’ve been studying Thomas Jefferson at school. They attend Sunrise Valley ES in Reston, VA and the school mascot is the sun, so this piece of art was particularly fun for them. Thank you!”

A Visit to our Mosaic Bench from Charlie, Luna, and Lynda

We love hearing from friends who enjoy our ‘Seat of Harmony’.  Here’s a note from some weekend visitors…

“We fell in love with Cville!

This was our first visit; we drove up from S.C.

This is Kevin and Luna!

We will be back soon!

Virginia Artists Make Holiday Magic

C’ville Arts Gallery, located on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, icville 5s busting at the seams with the magic of handmade gift items for the holidays.  Jewelers, potters, fabric artists, painters, wood crafters, and all manner of artists working with glass, photography and more…
the gallery is brimming with the joy of the season.

cville3C’ville Arts Gallery: An Artists Cooperative, began well over a 15 years ago with the vision of a handful of craftspeople who sought a seasonal venue from which to sell their art. The artists moved from space to space for each of several holiday seasons and  called themselves “Transient Crafters”. With each passing season, the success of the venture increased, along with the size of our membership.

cville 2In 2000, with membership growing, the co-op secured their current, permanent location near the Central Place on the pedestrian mall Downtown.  As the 10-year anniversary of the first seasonal shop approached in 2007, they decided it was time for a new name that better reflected the focus of the gallery and their place in the community.  And so they became C’ville Arts: A Cooperative Gallery.
Cville display Nov 2013-2Today, the C’ville Arts Gallery co-operative is composed of between 50-60 artists… all living in Virginia and each one working in different media, types of art and craft.  The artists run the Gallery themselves (even the one paid administrator is an artist), so each time you visit, you can meet and talk with the very artists whose work you are seeing in the shop.
cville 4During the holidays, the Gallery is a wonderful place to be… full of color, texture, music, and joy.  Come see what new the Gallery holds for the holidays… the magic continues.
